I have enjoyed this restaurant since it opened. It has been an absolute favorite. The sushi is fresh, tasty, and all other dishes are excellent too, if you're not a fan of sushi. Cut rolls are a favorite, and the artistry with which everything is served is always a pleasure. Not a large place, but stylish, welcoming and comfortable. My husband and I will be enjoying this delight for I HOPE many years to come. A real winner here!

I love Higashi. I used to eat here weekly when I went to Uconn, now I only can get it when I come up to visit.. Fresh food everytime. You'll get great quick service. Everything I have tried is excellent. But I LOVE the dynamite roll, the Blackened Tuna appetizer, and the Spicy Crab Handroll... Mmmmmm

Higashi has been a favorite since opening more than ten years ago. Back then we were crazy for the sushi roll dinners. Moving on to this century sashimi dinner moved to the head of the list. Along the way new surprises and delights kept us happy and welcome. One thing remains constant. Very high quality. We were amazed, back then, that food could become beautiful and now we appreciate we have had the luck to enjoy Tony's restaurant for more than ten years. Why not start your own tradition? Or obsession. Higashi is an excellent place to have both. Best wishes to Tony and his staff of artisans for many, many years to come!

I attend UConn about 30 minutes away but my friends and I come to Higashi whenever we get the chance. The location makes it very easy for us to stop by for dinner after a day of shopping at Buckland Hills mall. The food is exceptional; the sushi is always fresh and the rolls are always so beautiful. Try the Red Dragon roll! It looks so pretty but tastes so delicious! Most importantly though, the prices and value is the best around. (Very important if you're a college student!)

I live in Glastonbury, but I make the drive to South Windsor about once a week to get my sushi and sashimi from Higashi. I have tried other restaurants that are closer to my home, but for the freshest fish, the most creative rolls, and the best artistry, there is no other choice. Higashi is simply my favorite restaurant in all of greater Hartford. I have been going there for years, and I have never been disappointed. My only complaint is that they aren't located closer to me. But I would drive a great distance for food this good.
