My wife and I had our first dinner at Saybrook Fish House tonight. All I can say is OMG!!!!! Sondra had stuffed salmon with a hollandaise sauce. You can taste the freshness of the fish. The stuffing was excellent with garlic mashed potatoes on the side. I had the seafood platter containing stuffed sole, baked stuffed shrimp and scallops. Everything was cooked perfectly. The portions were a good size and the waitress was great. AT the end of dinner we were presented with warm wet towels(almond scented) to cleanse our hands and a fruit basket. I must say dinner was quiet because we were so into our food. You can get a good meal at the chowder pot or main seafood but for about the same price you'll get more quality, better service fresher and better tasting seafood at the Saybrook Fish House. I think we've found a new favorite restaurant.

My husband and I decided to go out for a healthy meal. What a great place to go if you are watching your diet. We had a wonderful salad loaded with a great combination of fresh veggies and the dressings were brought in bottles so you could use what you wanted. Large pitcher of iced water with lemons. Our entree was the fish combination of sole and blue fish.. Delicious! with steamed fresh vegetables.. Service was great!! Our server checked on us frequently and made us feel like we were her only customers. For dessert we had a wonderful basket of fresh fruit which we were able to enjoy and then take home for the next day.. We highly recommend The Saybrook Fish House in Rocky Hill..Wonderful meal ... Great service and reasonable prices.

Same great food as always, but the service was poor, to the point where we felt ignored. Too much time between courses...and no check-back after we received our meals. There were 2 servers in our section -- presumably one was \"in training\". Can\'t say he\'s being trained to do things the \"right\" way (in terms of customer service). P.S. If your tip was lacking-that\'s because your service was. Can\'t say we look forward to coming back any time soon.

I have dined here many times and have always had a good meal. With that in mind I suggested that a large group come here when it was time to pick a place to relax and have some good seafood. The food lived up to its reputation as always. What was not so good was the presentation and the lack of service. We wanted a to order more drinks several times but where never asked and had to flag somebody done once. We were never asked how our food was and were pretty much ignored. When we left we went to a different place so that we could get drinks. Luckily everyone enjoyed their meal and didn't pay too much attentio to the poor service.

Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed!
Saturday was the first time my fiance & I ever tried this place & it was wonderful. From start to finish there wasn't one aspect of the meal that fell short of excellent. And if you're not a fish lover, they have tasty items for those that don't enjoy seafood as well. We had the special which was a barbeque center cut pork loin & it was delish! The bread was warm & fresh, the salad could have been a meal in itself & the dinner absolutely top notch. And if that wasn't enough, after dinner they gave us a large fruit basket to take home which we enjoyed the next day. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff & great seafood choices. While most restaurants are scaling back, Saybrook has found a way to give you more & we'll be going back & recommending them to others!

Last night, (Saturday), my wife & I wanted seafood for dinner. Having been and enjoyed Saybrook Fish House in the past,I called for take-out. After several rings, a male answered. I asked if they had the item my wife wanted and was told yes. I asked what the chef\'s specials were and was told he was swamped and couldn't read them to me. I thanked him and hung up. Great to see that business is so good that you can deny orders!
Very dissatisfied,
An old customer

This had to have been the BEST meal I've had in as long as I can remember ! The staff was polite, the atmosphere was warm and comforting. This restaurant did not smell like the ocean ( like most Seafood restaurants ). There was ambiance.

The food was EXCELLENT from the start of the warm bread to the delicious dressings for the salad to the WONDERFUL meal ( I had baked stuffed shrimp ~ you'll never find it anywhere better ! ).

To top it off, at the end of our meal we received these wonderful hot washcloths that smelled of almond extract for cleaning our hands, a few cookies and an entire fruit basket! We chose to take our fruit basket home with us ( as offered ) because the meal was so filling and we had our fruit basket for breakfast the next morning !

If I could eat here everyday... I definitely would! I recommend this restaurant to everyone. And don't forget to make a reservation. Though there was a waiting crowd in the sitting room, they seat reservations first ~ we were seated within 3 minutes of walking in!

This is our very favorite restaurant. Been coming here just about every week for about 15 years and have always gotten the best service, food and care. Denise and Helen and Whitney are wonderful gals and we appreciate them very much. Actually, the whole staff is great!! When our family visits from Illinois, this is the only place they always want to come to. Thanks Saybrook Fish House!!

I love and always look forward to eating at the Saybrook Fish House.
I've only visited the Canton location, but this restaurant sets an unfair standard on all other seafood establishments because it does everything to perfection.

Everytime I go elsewhere I always compare the food to SFH, and when I do, to date I'm disapointed.

Please keep up the good work and please don't remove the crab cakes and the jumbo stuffed shrimp from your menu!

The Saybrook Fish House has been my stand-by restaurant since 1986. When I want to be absolutely sure that my meal is fresh, well-prepared and tasty I go to 'The Fish House.'
In the past two years we have visited, as a couple, almost every week. Sometimes we go for the lounge menu - the salmon quesadilla is big enough and good enough to make a meal with the ubiquitous Fish House salad. Sometimes we go for supper - an unsung hero of the menu is the Seafood Combo.
The staff is friendly, the menu is diverse and the atmosphere is pleasantly pub-like. And, if you are really lucky, you will get to exchange a few words with Kenny: then your visit will be complete.

Saybrook Fish House is one of my favorite places to eat!! It's great for both a casual dinner and a special occasion alike. Their family style salad is wonderful - always cold and fresh, complete with everything from cheese, carrots, mushrooms, sprouts and more!

I love their pecan crusted red snapper topped with maple butter mm... I've never ordered a meal I didn't love.

The fruit basket and warm almond scented towels at the end of the meal are the icing on the cake

My boyfriend and I were out last Thursday just for a drive... we're from Stratford, and with no specific destination in mind, we ventured off X24 in search of a seafood resturant. We had our trusty GPS and did a search on all Seafood eateries in the area.

Well, The Saybrook Fish House didn't exactly come up on our GPS, but as we're driving by it.. i said.. why don't we just go in there..... and we did!

We eat out pretty often, to places like, Mortons, PFChangs, Ruth's Chris, and lots of places in NYC... so we are sort of experienced with Food, Service and prices....

We were not expecting to be so pleased with this little place that we had never heard of before... the service was excellent, the food was great and the prices were reasonable. Needless to say, we'll back back.. except next time we're bringing another couple with us...

Loved it!
